KIHASA Honored as a ‘Top Research Institute’ in the 2024 NRC Evaluation

KIHASA received the “2024 Top Research Institute Award” from the National Research Council (NRC), an annual distinction given to the two best-evaluated institutes. On May 22, the NRC held an award ceremony for high-performing institutes at the main auditorium of the Research Support Building in the Sejong National Research Complex. This marks KIHASA’s second consecutive win, having also received the same award in the 2023 NRC evaluation.

To foster research excellence, the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences evaluates its 26 affiliated research institutes each year, recognizing the top performers with awards. Two institutes that rank within the top 10% overall are given the Top Research Institute Award. Two institutes in each of the research and management categories receive the Outstanding Institute Award. The Innovative Institute Award recognizes two institutes that have risen the most from their previous year’s ranking.

The research institutes recognized on stage that day as Top, Outstanding, and Innovative Institutes are as follows:

• ■Outstanding Institutes for Management: Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, Korea Maritime Institute

• ■Innovative Institutes: Science and Technology Policy Institute, Korea Information Society Development Institute
