President's Message
Welcome to the KIHASA Website.
Founded in 1970 as Korea’s national family planning institute,
the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA) has since expanded its remit to include research on health,
social welfare, and related fields.
At KIHASA, we are committed to enhancing public health and refining social security policies.
We focus on addressing Korea’s declining birth rates, developing care service strategies for an aging population,
and designing need-based delivery models.
We play a key role in producing foundational statistics, conducting policy evaluations,
and formulating medium- to long-term development plans, all built on extensive national surveys.
In service to the public, KIHASA shares its research reports and survey data via this website.
We welcome your feedback, whether critical or supportive. Thank you.
Youngseok Shin
President, KIHASA
