When I was in school, there were probably one or two students in every class who were carers.
I wonder how many young carers there are in our country.
Currently, there are limitations in the available statistics to accurately estimate the number of young carers.
Due to these limitations, researchers have used different methods to estimate their size in the population.
According to the Population and Housing Census, about 4.8% of all people aged 13 to 34 live with a family member who has a physical or mental condition for more than six months.
However, there are limitations to this data as there may be regional variations and the survey does not specifically ask whether these young people are directly providing care.
