Voiceover:
What is "rest"? Rest has various meanings. It can bring to mind leisure activities or relaxation, or it may evoke the idea of taking sick leave when one’s health requires a break from activities. For young people entering the job market, rest often brings a sense of unease. Though experiences may vary, rest generally carries a negative sense of deviating from the norm or from societal expectations. This is South Korea, where resting feels uncomfortable.
Kim:
When we think about how rest is discussed in our society, it mostly centers around sick leave, a break taken only when one is unwell. However, spending time with friends, relieving stress, engaging in religious or club activities, forming social identity, and even contributing to personal self-realization―these are all forms of rest in one way or another.
