- Date 2024-11-12
- Hits 108
KIHASA has announced the publication on November 11 of 12 research reports that have been redesigned to enhance accessibility for people with disabilities. This initiative is part of the "2024 Public Publications Accessibility Support Project," organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and implemented by the National Library for the Disabled.
The project aims to make PDF e-publications issued by public institutions more accessible and user-friendly for individuals with disabilities by offering them in PDF/UA format.* These enhanced materials include accessibility tags, allowing people with disabilities who use screen readers and assistive technology to listen to visual information in audio format and navigate to the desired content easily.
"PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) Format: A format designed to be easily accessed and understood by people with disabilities using screen reading software. It adds tags such as tables of contents, headings, tables, and links to improve navigation, inlcudes alternative text for images, and coverts visual information to audio format. |
