  • Child Policy Idea Contest Winners to Be Announced

A First prize and four runner-up prizes were awarded at the Opening Ceremony of the Health and Social Welfare Review Colloquium on June 30.

  • KIHASA announced the winners of the ‘Child Policy Idea Contest’ on June 25.

  • -Following the Youth Policy Contest in 2019, a total of 79 entries were submitted to this year’s Child Policy Contest planned by KIHASA to explore practical ideas for child policy.

  • First prize was awarded to the proposal, “Let’s give friends’ faces as a gift to the visually impaired.”

  • -This proposal received highest marks for its genuine concerns for people with disabilities and the suggestion of a timely intervention to meet their needs. Schools for the blind have been giving their graduates busts of their friends produced by the 3-D printer as commencement gifts; this proposal is to give these not at the end of their school life but at the beginning, so that the students could spend their school life, knowing how their friends look like.

  • The runner-up prizes were awarded to an idea that suggests a support program for children who have experienced the bereavement of their parents, which can positively affect the development of these children until they reach adulthood; an idea about literacy education for children and adolescents; an idea about parentoring (parents+mentoring) for the independence of children after their protection programs end; an idea about a child-parent integrated mental health support project.

  • First prize of KRW 1 million and runner-up prize of KRW 500,000 were awarded to the winners. The Award Ceremony is taking place at the 2021 Health and Welfare Review Colloquium at the Mozart Hall, Seoul President Hotel, on June 30 at 1:00 p.m.
